The Heeling Allies Training Program
in Heeling Allies intensive board and train program, dogs live with a Heeling Allies trainer where they are trained in task performance, and learn to master advanced obedience skills, behave in places of public accommodation
(e.g. grocery stores, malls, and restaurants), and therapeutically
interact with individuals who have mental impairments.
During an intensive team training program, Heeling Allies Dogs and their handlers learn to work together as a team under the direction of a Heeling Allies trainer. Intensive team training may be 8-14 days in length depending upon the type of Heeling Allies Dog.
Heeling Allies believes that team training is most effective and productive when conducted within a the recipients' community. Although Heeling Allies is located in, Seattle, Washington, Heeling Allies dogs are placed in cities all over the country. For Heeling Allies dog recipients' outside of the Seattle area, a Heeling Allies trainer travels with the dog to the recipients' hometown to conduct team training.
Heeling Allies Service Dog teams receive on going training and support for the life of their dog, and must commit to annual team tests following the placement of a Heeling Allies dog.
Please note that Heeling Allies does not offer training for individuals who would like to train their own dog to become a mental health dog.
